Well folks its another day to honor the recipient of the “Idiot of the Week” award.  It was a close race.  With British Petroleum running a close second and Mexico’s President Calderon coming in third.  I decided that Reverend Fred Phelps and his followers, which are roughly comprised of his family, were the winners.  That is why it’s temporary titled as the “Idiots of the week” award.  Thank you Reverend Phelps and his sheep, for being the first.

I, being an ordained minister myself, can not even express my feelings about this dogmatic religious cult that you have given birth to.  It is obvious that you have a deep hatred for the Gays.  You want to make America aware of this dangerous situation!  Now that is definitely what the world needs saving from!  Aren’t there not any other worthy causes you can devote your precious time to.  I mean, with you not getting any younger and with not seeing you with the protesters as much, I concluded that your time is coming soon.  If I were you, thank God I’m not, I would try to channel my last years, months, weeks and or even days of life left, into something more positive.

Now don’t get me wrong, I do not believe in same sex relationships.  But I do not go around my little hometown here with a burning cross and hangman’s loop, chasing the gays out of town on a rail.  Why don’t I, you may ask?  Well it’s simple.  I really don’t know where they are or hang out.  Oh, sure I could find out and I know that I probably could put a strong substantial force together to make their lives quite miserable, but the “Creator” has more important things on his mind right now and so do I.  I hope before you stand before your judgement, you”ll have thought this through.

It’s now a scientific fact,  ”The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”.  This is Shirley Phelps-Roper.  The daughter of Rev Fred Phelps.  I’ve seen the videos of this woman in action.  Oh my!  I’m trying hard to see the Christian in her.  This is one parsimonious lady.  I’ve got to surmise that she’s got, excuse my bluntness, “one set of balls” on her.  Did anyone peek underneath her dress to see?  To stand out there and speak and show the word “hate” and direct it at a family putting their soldier to rest, well there’s got to be something immensely wrong with her. Physical, mentally, or emotionality. What ever caused it, I hope its not contagious.  Now if she says and or preaches that God hates America, that God hates Gays,  and if God hates the troops, their parents and so forth, then she must hate them too!  And, if she hates these other citizens of America, as she professes is God’s words,  then is in a sense, committing a hate crime?  I’ve read of the court battles that the church has been through.  I see that some were over ruled on their behalf and some overturned.  Maybe someone needs to go back and reopen a couple of these cases and see if there is a hate crime accompanied with the original charges.

What ever the reason is for why they do what they do, it seems to me it’s based on hate.  You see it on their signs.  You hear it from the dark, dank holes that they use other than for eating and what ever else they use them for behind closed doors.   They are teaching their children to parrot them too.  Except for Nate.  Also I see a lot of publicity wrangling.  They are dying for attention.  It could be that their numbers are dwindling and they need to replenish the hive.  A church does not live on bread alone.  So I could sum it up as a form of  idiosyncrasy. I also see greed as a factor in the pursuit of Godliness.

Oh before I forget.  To W.B.C., remember the phrase “love thy neighbor”.  It’s the has the opposite meaning of hate in it.

John Edwards, come on down!  You’ve been awarded the coveted “IDIOT OF THE WEEK” award!

Just more proof that a politician will lie through their teeth to save their butts.  Lets take the latest issue on hand, John Edwards.  He had a tryst and a child that came later, with one, “Rielle Hunter”.  He also said  that the affair ended in 2006.  But a baby girl, named Frances Quinn Hunter, came into the world  on Feb. 27th 2008.  Let’s do the math John.  The affair ended in 2006.  Your newest member of your committee was born in 2008.  I guess this is political mathematics?  The numbers just don’t add up Mr. Edwards!  Maybe, Obama should have appointed you to run the Treasury Department!

Can the sanctity of John’s marriage get even lower?  Oh yea!.  His wife, Elizabeth Edwards, is dealing with cancer!

And, it gets deeper!  John enlisted an aid to help with the cover up.  A Mr. Andrew Young.  Young is putting out a book that I’m sure will explain what did happen and how he wound up taking the fall for this.  Now now Mr. Young, it seems that you shouldn’t have gotten involved period.  If you had any honor, you would have resigned right that second!  Then there would not have been a fall to take.  But, I’m sure the sale of your book will comfort your conscious and your wallet.  If you two would have gotten away with it, I wonder what kinda explanation Rielle would have given little Quinn about the whereabouts’ of her “Daddy”!

And let’s not feel totally sorry for Ms.Rielle Hunter.  Or is that you real name, Lisa Druck?  I understand that you were quite a party animal in you past life.  By what I read, you were quite the hob nobler.  There’s also the matter of marrying into an influential family, then running off with a new financed life and name.  Sounds like you fit in with some of the political crowd.  Sounds like your talents took you far.  I wonder?  If you were ever stricken by an incurable infliction, would you appreciate it if you’re husband had an affair, and got the other woman pregnant to boot?  Oops, forgot!  You’re not married.  I read an article from Fox News about an old former friend that comes to your defense.  I believe her name is “Pigeon O’Brien“.  She said, “that you’re being Demonized by the press”.  She also said that you’re a person that believes  things should be done with integrity.  That you’re, and I quote, “very much into honesty and trust”.  If you’re this type of person, then why is her friendship with you “former”?  And, if you are so honest, then why didn’t you let Mrs. Edwards into your little secret with John?.  Or did you “trust” that she might not have taken it well?

I’ve got to tip my hat to Mrs. Edwards.  She’s hung in there with her hubby for awhile.  I thought she’s foolish for doing it.  If I did something like that to my wife, she would hang me up by my you know whats.  But. this is a woman, who has to deal with cancer, can forgive.  But, I wonder if she’ll forget?  Oh, she didn’t forget.  I found out that they are now separated.  Maybe John can run back to Rielle?  I heard she’s a stable woman!

I’d like to end this by saying that I’m glad you did not win the presidential election John!  We have enough problems with the liars and cheats that halo the halls of our political offices.  And, I will not buy a book from anyone who would have attempted to go along with this, Mr. Young.  Even if your were given the position of “The fall guy”!  I can’t say anything about Rielle/Lisa, that would be construed, that she’s a”Lady”.  Oh!  Rielle/Lisa, give up this new age religion that Pigeon says you’re into.  You might as well stay with one of  the old ones.  You committed one of the oldest sins!

I feel sorry for Quinn though.  I hope she’s not affected by this when she hears all the stories.  Just goes to show, you can’t pick your parents!

The people who go on this adventurous trek, are then chauffeured in an unmarked chartered carriage, paying $65.00 a seat and sign a waiver acknowledging that they can become a victim during this tour.  I sure hope they have flak vests and helmets on this bus to no-man’s land.

It says the reason he’s doing this is to build a “Thriving Venture”, that gives an insight to the lives of the gangs.  And, to convince the tourist that the communities are not a loss and still have possibility.  I wonder if the people of these communities, that live within the boundaries of these thugs, have the same idea?

Yea, I said thugs.  The only thing you don’t see is the old tommy guns blazing away and suicide doors.

Anyway, he also stated and I quote this from the news, “There’s a fascination with Gangs, he says”. And the town crier comes out to say!  Oyes, Oyes, come to the tour.  Let us promote another reason for the gangs to be proud of!   Look there!, your tour bus driver will shout.  It’s the indigenous species of this jungle!  The dreaded O.G.  You might even get a map with a brochure.   Maybe it could be sold along with the map to the Star’s homes.  You can call it, “The Map to the Bullet Holes”.

We know that these communities have the chance to improve.  But as long as the gangs build up and intimidate the air around them, entrepreneurs will not be eager to start up a capital venture in these neighborhoods.  And, if they were, it would be more likely that the dozer’s and wrecking balls would come waltzing in to start with.

I understand his undertaking.  He sounds like someone who cares about this problem that plagues America.  The article says that he has done a lot of hard work to help these communities and ex-gang members who are trying to move on with their lives, but we have seen what gangs have done and will continue to do, as long as they exist.  From the days of yore, we have witnessed gangs of history past and what goes on today through out the world, what gangs are capable of.  They are nothing more than a terrorist.

Hey!  Maybe the next thing we’ll see is some type of extreme sports show appear on television, with surviving a week in a territory that most may consider a war zone.  They can call it, “Surviving Gangland”, give a big money prize and then the winner can endorse the sneakers he wore, that saved his life by letting him run faster and jump higher.

Hey wait.  There’s already contestants there!  They just can’t get out sometimes. And, they don’t win any prizes.

My wife enjoys this movie still.  I thought that I would look up the singer.  I was glad to see that the sound came from the islands.  I was lucky as a child. I had the privilege to live on the island of Oahu.  To a lot of folks they know it by the capital name “Honolulu”.  I have great memories of that island.  Any way, I thought it would be cool if I shared this with you.  This is the singer of  “50 First Dates”.  He was known as Israel Kamakawiwo’Ole, aka “IZ”.  Its a song many know.  Its a song many can relate too.  I know he loved this song.  I think he understood.  Unfortunately we won’t get to hear anything new.  This also pays homage to a young gifted man.

If your feeling blue and have lost hope, just take a moment and listen to this song.  Some Dreams do come true.
